SEWING AND PATTERNMAKING WORKSHOPS

THE BEGINNING

Having emigrated from his home country to Venezuela and later to the United States, Hugo Herrera has developed a social conscience which has motivated him to share his knowledge of pattern cutting and sewing with others. In 2015, Hugo launched a series of free sewing workshops, which immigrant women heads of household have benefited primarily. Non-profit organizations such as MIRA USA have joined this effort to help others improve their quality of life. The classes, which were born from a promise, have a two-month duration and have already benefitted more than 70 people throughout six graduating classes. Hugo offers these workshops up to three times a year.
