ABOUT HUGO HERRERA

Hugo Herrera is a Colombian designer, tailor and pattern designer with more than 40 years of experience in the fashion industry. He started his career in 1973 in his home country, Colombia, where he started as an apprentice and pattern cutter in the city of Cali. Hugo later moved to Venezuela where he continued studying at the Monaco Academy of Caracas and established a clothing factory that made and distributed shirts and all kinds of clothing to upscale shops in the Venezuelan capital. Hugo lived there for more than 35 years dedicated to the art of design and dressmaking. In 2001, Hugo immigrated to the United States where he settled in Miami (Florida). There, he made shirts for the renowned store Bertini in Coral Gables and clothing for celebrities like Don Francisco. In 2006, he moved to New York City where he established his own factory in which he produced samples for the Marc Jacobs Collection, made alterations for companies like Calvin Klein and designers such as Donna Karan. He has also worked for other celebrities such as: Glenn Beck, Kobe Bryant and Steven Seagal. Currently, Hugo puts his artistic talent, experience and professionalism at the services of celebrities and others who visit the capital of the world at H HERRERA STUDIO in Manhattan’s Fashion District.
